Preparation
- In a bowl, combine Cherry Dr Pepper, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
- Place the chicken breasts in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them.
- Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
Grilling
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade.
- Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For better flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. Ensure your grill is hot for nice grill marks. Use a meat thermometer to check the chicken’s internal temperature for safety. Feel free to add other spices or herbs for extra flavor.
