Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure your butter is softened for easier creaming.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Can use dark chocolate chips for richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup chopped strawberries Chop strawberries into small pieces for even distribution.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and chopped strawberries.
Baking
  1. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until set.
  3. Allow to cool on a wire rack before enjoying!

You can serve these cookies warm or at room temperature. For a festive touch, drizzle melted chocolate over the top or dust with powdered sugar before serving.
