Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 5 oz Evaporated milk (1 can)
  • 7 oz Marshmallow creme (1 jar)
  • 12 oz Chocolate chips (2 cups), semi-sweet
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Candy thermometer
  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Parchment paper
  • Whisk/Spoon

Method

Steps
  1. Line a 9x13 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy lifting, then set aside.
  2. In a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until melted and dissolved.
  3. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil and continue boiling for 5 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately stir in marshmallow creme, chocolate chips, and vanilla extract until completely melted and smooth.
  5. Pour the hot fudge into the prepared dish and spread evenly; cool completely at room temperature or chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours until firm.
  6. Once firm, lift the fudge using the parchment paper, cut into squares, and store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

Notes

For best results, use a heavy-bottomed saucepan and avoid scraping the bottom or sides of the pan once the sugar mixture starts to cool to prevent crystallization. Ensure all ingredients are measured accurately for perfect fudge.
