Preparation
- Crush the entire package of Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a Ziploc bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
- In a medium bowl, combine the crushed Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese until thoroughly mixed and a dough-like consistency is formed.
- Roll the mixture into approximately 1-inch diameter balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill the Oreo balls in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until firm, to prevent them from falling apart during dipping.
Coating and Finishing
- Melt the chocolate melting wafers according to package instructions, using either a microwave or a double boiler.
- Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, coating it completely, and then place it back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Immediately decorate the chocolate-coated balls with Thanksgiving-themed sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
- Allow the chocolate to fully set at room temperature or by chilling briefly in the refrigerator before serving or storing.
Notes
For best results, ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature before mixing to achieve a smooth consistency. You can also use different flavored Oreos or add a touch of vanilla extract to the mixture.
