  • 1 yellow onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro chopped, for garnish

  • 0.5 tsp turmeric
  • 0.5 tsp cumin
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
  2. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside, leaving any drippings in the pan.
  3. Add chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Mix in tomato paste and all the spices (garam masala, turmeric, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper), stirring for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  7. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, bring the mixture to a simmer, and cook for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce has slightly thickened.
  9. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving and enjoy your Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet.

Notes
