  • 2 large large onions, diced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Make sure it's very soft for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onions and cook until softened and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Stir in the caramelized onions and grated cheddar cheese.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve warm with chips or crackers.

Notes

Serve warm for the best flavor with a variety of chips, crackers, or bread. Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days; reheating is recommended.
