Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or an 8x8 inch baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then sauté the chopped onion until it softens, which takes about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and chopped Swiss chard to the skillet, cooking until the chard wilts and any liquid has evaporated, approximately 5-7 minutes. Remove the skillet from the heat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, shredded cheese, salt, and pepper until the mixture is well combined.
- Stir the cooked Swiss chard mixture into the prepared egg and cheese mixture.
- Pour the entire quiche mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the quiche is set and has a lightly golden brown top.
- Allow the quiche to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg to the egg mixture. Serve warm or at room temperature.
