Assembly
- Whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk in a large bowl for 2 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Spread a thin layer of the prepared pudding mixture onto the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Arrange a single layer of vanilla wafers over the pudding, then top with an even layer of sliced bananas and strawberries.
- Cover the fruit layers with half of the remaining pudding mixture, spreading it gently to cover completely.
- Repeat the layering process with another layer of vanilla wafers, followed by more sliced bananas and strawberries, and then the rest of the pudding.
- Carefully spread the thawed whipped topping evenly over the final layer of pudding.
- Refrigerate the pudding for a minimum of 4 hours, or preferably overnight, before serving to allow it to set and flavors to meld.
Notes
For best results, chill the pudding for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the wafers to soften perfectly. Garnish with extra fresh fruit before serving.
