  • 2 cups cooked rice White or brown rice can be used
  • 1 cup queso cheese Can substitute with dairy-free queso if needed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the steak
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning to preference

Preparation
  1. Begin by dicing the steak into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Cook your rice according to package instructions if you haven’t done this already.
Cooking
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced steak to the skillet.
  3. Season the steak with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook the steak for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the steak is browned and cooked to your liking.
  5. Lower the heat and stir in the cooked rice and queso cheese. Mix until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
  6. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to heat through.

Notes

Serve hot garnished with fresh herbs, jalapeños, or sour cream. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For extra flavor, consider marinating the steak before cooking and adding different cheeses or veggies for variation.
