Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp white vinegar
  • salt to taste
For Decoration
  • few drops black food coloring
  • 1 black olive or plastic spider, for garnish

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Fork
  • Piping Bag (optional)
  • Toothpick or Small Brush

Method

Preparation
  1. Place eggs in a saucepan, cover with cold water, and bring to a rolling boil; then reduce heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes.
  2. Drain the eggs and immediately transfer them to an ice bath to cool completely for at least 5 minutes.
  3. Once cooled, carefully peel the eggs and slice each in half lengthwise.
Assembly
  1. Gently scoop out the egg yolks into a small bowl, keeping the egg white halves intact.
  2. Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, and salt until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the centers of the egg white halves.
Spiderweb Design
  1. Dip a toothpick or small brush into the black food coloring and carefully draw a small dot in the center of the yolk mixture.
  2. Draw concentric circles around the dot, then drag lines from the center dot outwards to create a spiderweb effect.
  3. For an extra spooky touch, place a sliced black olive or a small plastic spider on top of the web.

Notes

For best results, use older eggs as they are easier to peel. Adjust salt to your preference. If you don't have a piping bag, a zip-top bag with a corner snipped off works perfectly.
