Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 2 cups White Rice
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha or to taste
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
Veggies & Aromatics
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 inch piece Ginger grated
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper sliced
  • 1 head Broccoli Florets cut
  • 1 medium Onion sliced
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Flakes optional

Equipment

  • Wok or Large Skillet
  • Rice Cooker or Pot with lid
  • Cutting Board
  • Chef's Knife
  • Spatula or Stirring Spoon
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons

Method

Prepare Rice
  1. Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water, then combine with water in a pot or rice cooker and cook according to package directions until fluffy.
Cook Stir-Fry
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, then add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Drain any excess fat and set the beef aside.
  2. Add the remaining vegetable oil to the same skillet, then add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes (if using), stir-frying for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced onion, red bell pepper, and broccoli florets to the skillet, and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet with the vegetables, then pour in the soy sauce, sriracha, and sesame oil, tossing everything to combine and heat through for 1-2 minutes.
Assemble Bowl
  1. Divide the steamy rice among serving bowls, then spoon the spicy ground beef and garlic veggies over the top. Serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a dash of chili oil or a sprinkle of chopped fresh cilantro before serving. You can also customize the vegetables based on what you have on hand, such as snap peas, carrots, or mushrooms.
