Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, softened Make sure butter is softened but not melted.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts Pecans or walnuts are commonly used.
  • 1 cup additional powdered sugar for rolling Approximately.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Soften your butter thoroughly to avoid hard clumps.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
  4. Add the flour, salt, and chopped nuts to the bowl. Stir until the mixture is uniform.
  5. Roll the dough into one-inch balls and place them on an ungreased baking sheet or lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the cookies are set but not browned. It’s better to underbake than overbake.
Finishing Touches
  1. While the cookies are still warm, roll them in additional powdered sugar. Let them cool completely and then roll them again in powdered sugar.

Notes

Keep your Snowball Cookies fresh by storing them in an airtight container at room temperature. They can also be refrigerated. A sprinkle of extra powdered sugar before serving adds a lovely touch.
