Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, do not overbake; cookies will continue to set as they cool. Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate chips or add nuts for variety.
