Bread Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water Warm water for yeast activation.
  • 1 tsp sugar For activating yeast.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg egg Beaten for mixing.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water; let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, milk, melted butter, and the beaten egg to the flour and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Shape the dough into loaves or rolls and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

To store, let it cool completely, then keep in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
