Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • Pink food coloring Use a few drops to achieve desired color.
Toppings
  • Fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries) Add just before serving for freshness.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and salt until smooth. Beat in the egg, and stir in the vanilla extract along with a few drops of pink food coloring.
  4. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
Baking
  1. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place them onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  2. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven until they turn golden. Let them cool before adding fresh berries on top.

Notes

To store cookies, keep them in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. For longer storage, freeze cookies without berries. They can last up to three months in the freezer.
