Brownie Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8 inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper, ensuring an overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, whisking until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, then stir in the fresh lemon juice and lemon zest until everything is fully blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined and no flour streaks are visible.
  6. Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting them out and cutting into squares.
Glaze Application (Optional)
  1. For the optional glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and fresh lemon juice until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the prepared glaze over the cooled brownies before serving.

Notes

For an extra burst of lemon flavor, consider adding a lemon glaze made from powdered sugar and fresh lemon juice once the brownies have cooled.
