Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 5 beans Vanilla beans Use high-quality, fresh vanilla beans for the best flavor.
  • 1 bottle Vodka Ensure that it is high-proof to extract the flavor effectively.
  • optional Bourbon Can be used instead of vodka for a different flavor profile.

Method

Preparation
  1. Split the vanilla beans lengthwise to expose the seeds.
  2. Place the beans in a clean glass bottle.
  3. Pour in vodka (or bourbon) until the beans are completely submerged.
  4. Seal the bottle tightly and store it in a dark, cool place.
  5. Shake the bottle gently every few weeks.
  6. Let it infuse for at least 2 months for the best flavor.

Notes

Store your homemade vanilla extract in a cool, dark place. Seal tightly to maintain flavor and freshness. It can last for several years but the flavor will deepen over time. Don't rush the infusion; the longer it sits, the more flavor it will develop.
