Main Ingredients
  • 1 head head of cabbage Make sure to wash the cabbage leaves well
  • 1 lb ground turkey Can substitute for ground beef or a meat substitute
  • 1 cup cooked rice Can use any type of cooked rice
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes Use low-sodium if preferred
  • 1 cup chicken broth Can substitute with vegetable broth for a vegetarian option
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until soft.
  2. Add ground turkey and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in cooked rice, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Remove the core from the cabbage and chop the leaves.
  5. Add chopped cabbage leaves to the mixture and stir.
  6. Cover and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until cabbage is tender.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Great on its own, but also pairs well with side salad, bread, sour cream, or fresh herbs. You can prepare the mixture ahead of time and add cabbage before cooking.
