Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in sugar and add cold water gradually, mixing until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough in half and roll out each half into a rectangle.
- Cut into smaller rectangles for the pop tart shape.
Assembly
- Place a spoonful of chocolate fudge filling on half of the rectangles.
- Top with the other half, sealing the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg.
Baking
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar with a little milk for icing if desired, and drizzle over cooled pop tarts.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature, great with milk or ice cream. Store in an airtight container.
