Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add cold butter and blend until crumbly. Stir in ice water until the dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut it into rectangles.
Filling Preparation
- In another bowl, combine apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and lemon juice.
Assembly and Baking
- Place a spoonful of the apple mixture on one half of each rectangle, then fold the other half over and seal the edges.
- Brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool, then glaze with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to a month. Make the dough a day in advance and wrap tightly to store in the fridge.
