Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Must be at room temperature.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring Use gel food coloring for better color.
Topping
  • 24 pieces Hershey’s Kisses For topping each cookie.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
Baking
  1. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 8-10 minutes, then remove from the oven.
  3. Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  4. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. Can freeze once cooled in a freezer-safe bag.
