Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary, thyme, and paprika.
- Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- Place the pork in a roasting pan and add chicken broth to the pan.
Cooking
- Roast in the oven for about 4-6 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily shredded.
- For a golden-brown finish, increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) for the last 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let rest before slicing.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the pork shoulder overnight with the herb and garlic mixture. Make sure to check the meat's temperature with a meat thermometer. It should reach at least 190°F (88°C) for the best tenderness. Reserve some of the broth from the pan after roasting to serve as gravy.
