Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place them onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Press heart-shaped cookie cutters into the dough to create heart shapes.
- Sprinkle with colored sugar or frost as desired.
Baking
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden.
- Let cool on wire racks.
