Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the molasses and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined and no streaks of flour remain.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs but not wet batter.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting out with the parchment paper and cutting into squares.
