  • 1 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter melted
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
Peppermint Frosting
  • 3 cups Powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon Peppermint extract
  • 0.25 cup Crushed candy canes for topping

Method
 

Brownies
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, and eggs until smooth.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Let brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Peppermint Frosting
  1. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and butter until creamy and smooth.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until well combined and smooth.
  3. Stir in peppermint extract until fully incorporated.
  4. Once brownies are completely cool, spread frosting evenly over the top.
  5. Sprinkle with crushed candy canes before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure your butter and cream cheese are at room temperature for the frosting. Chill the frosted brownies before cutting for cleaner slices.
