  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter melted
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
Frosting
  • 3 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter softened
  • 2-3 tablespoons Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • Red and/or green food coloring a few drops

Method
 

Brownies
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract, then pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and mix until just combined.
  4. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  5. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before applying the frosting.
Frosting
  1. In a medium bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy using an electric mixer or whisk.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until the frosting is smooth and creamy.
  3. Divide the frosting into separate bowls and add a few drops of red and/or green food coloring to each portion, mixing to achieve desired festive colors.
  4. Evenly spread the colored frosting over the cooled brownies, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For an extra festive touch, sprinkle with holiday-themed sprinkles immediately after frosting.
