Baking Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together sugar, egg, mashed bananas, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add ½ cup of chopped walnuts or chocolate chips to the batter. Ensure your bananas are very ripe with brown spots for the best flavor and moisture.
