For the patties and assembly
  • 2 beef patties Choose high-quality ground beef for better flavor.
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese Any cheese can be used based on preference.
  • 1 piece hamburger bun Lightly toasted.
  • Lettuce Fresh, for crunch.
  • Tomato slices Fresh, for juiciness.
  • Onion slices Raw or grilled, based on preference.
  • Pickles For added tang.
  • Ketchup To taste.
  • Mustard To taste.
  • Salt For seasoning patties.
  • Pepper For seasoning patties.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Season the beef patties with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook the patties on a grill or in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  3. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
  4. Toast the hamburger bun lightly.
  5. Assemble the burger by placing one beef patty on the bottom half of the bun, then add lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.
  6. Place the second beef patty on top and add ketchup and mustard to taste.
  7. Close the burger with the top half of the bun and serve.

Notes

Serve the Double Cheeseburger with a side of fries or a fresh salad for a complete meal. It pairs well with cold drinks, like soda or iced tea.
