  • 8 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine whole milk, heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and salt in a 6-quart or larger crockpot.
  2. Whisk all ingredients together until thoroughly combined and smooth.
  3. Cover the crockpot and cook on LOW for 2 hours, or on HIGH for 1 hour.
  4. Stir the hot chocolate occasionally throughout the cooking process to ensure even melting and prevent sticking.
  5. Once heated through and chocolate is fully melted, ladle into mugs and serve warm. Garnish as desired.

Notes

For an extra rich flavor, use a combination of milk and heavy cream. Garnish with whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings.
