  • 2 pieces ripe bananas Ensure bananas are ripe for the best sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Can use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version.
  • 1 piece egg Beaten.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Panko breadcrumbs can be used for extra crunch.
  • as needed cups Oil for frying Keep oil at 350°F (175°C) for best results.

Preparation
  1. Slice the bananas into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Dip each banana slice in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Fry the banana bites until golden and crispy on all sides.
  3. Remove them and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm for the best experience. Great on their own or with ice cream, whipped cream, or chocolate sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator, and to reheat, place them in an oven at low temperature for a few minutes to regain crunch.
