Ingredients

  • 14-16 oz block Extra-firm tofu pressed and cubed
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Tofu press or paper towels/heavy object

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Add the cubed tofu to the bowl and gently toss to coat, then sprinkle with cornstarch and toss again until evenly coated.
Air Frying
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) if recommended by the manufacturer.
  2. Arrange the tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd it; cook in batches if necessary.
  3. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the tofu is golden brown and crispy.
Serving
  1. Serve the crispy air fryer tofu immediately as a snack, or add it to your favorite dishes like stir-fries, salads, or grain bowls.

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure tofu is thoroughly pressed. Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow for even cooking and browning.
