  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) Use your preferred type of cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened.
  4. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  5. In a large bowl, combine sour cream and cream of mushroom soup. Mix in the cooked noodles and the beef mixture.
  6. Transfer this mixture to a greased casserole dish and top with shredded cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  2. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with a green salad or steamed vegetables. For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-5 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge before reheating.
