Preparation and Assembly
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, fresh spinach, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- If using, mix in the cooked rice or pasta until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- If desired, add breadcrumbs for an extra crunch.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until heated through and bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
This casserole can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating. It's great for meal prep and can be customized with additional vegetables for more flavor and nutrition.
