  • Electric mixer
  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper
  • Spatula
  • Wire rack

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Mixing
  1. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with both granulated and brown sugars until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg, orange zest, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, then fold in the dried cranberries until just combined.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
  3. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is at room temperature before creaming. Chilling the dough helps prevent spreading during baking.
