Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk For marinating
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For breading
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper Optional for spice
  • Vegetable oil For frying

Method

Marination
  1. Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
Preparation
  1. In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Cooking
  1. Remove chicken from the buttermilk and let excess drip off, then coat each piece in the flour mixture, pressing it onto the chicken.
  2. Fry the chicken in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  3. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding more spices to the flour mixture, such as dried thyme or seasoned salt. Ensure the oil is hot enough before adding the chicken. Avoid overcrowding the skillet to ensure even cooking and crispy texture.
