Making the Dough
- Cream butter and sugar together in a large bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and cotton candy flavoring.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Divide the cookie dough into two equal portions and mix blue food coloring into one, and pink into the other.
Baking the Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line several baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Take small, equal portions of both colored doughs, roll them together, then form into 1-inch balls.
- Place the cookie dough balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use gel food coloring to achieve vibrant hues without thinning the dough, and don't overmix to keep the cookies tender.
