  • 1 tsp Cotton candy flavoring
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
For Coloring

  • Pink gel food coloring A few drops

Equipment

  • Stand mixer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper
  • Wire rack

Method

Making the Dough
  1. Cream butter and sugar together in a large bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and cotton candy flavoring.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Divide the cookie dough into two equal portions and mix blue food coloring into one, and pink into the other.
Baking the Cookies
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line several baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Take small, equal portions of both colored doughs, roll them together, then form into 1-inch balls.
  3. Place the cookie dough balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use gel food coloring to achieve vibrant hues without thinning the dough, and don't overmix to keep the cookies tender.
