  • 1 package 3 oz orange flavored gelatin Make sure to use a standard size package.
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 can 15 oz mandarin oranges, drained Can use fresh mandarin oranges as well.
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained Ensure pineapple is well-drained.
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional) Can substitute with pecans or omit for nut-free version.
  • 1 cup whipped cream (or cool whip), for topping Add just before serving.

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve the orange gelatin in boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved.
  2. Stir in cold water.
  3. Add mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple, mini marshmallows, and walnuts (if using). Mix gently until combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into a serving dish and refrigerate until set, about 4 hours.
  5. Before serving, top with whipped cream or cool whip.

Notes

To store your Orange Jello Salad, cover it tightly with plastic wrap or place it in an airtight container. It can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 5 days. Consider adding whipped cream just before serving for optimal freshness.
