Instructions
- Prepare the instant chocolate pudding according to package directions using cold milk; allow it to set for 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth, then mix in peanut butter and gently fold in one container of whipped topping.
- Layer half of the cubed chocolate cake in a trifle dish, then spoon half of the chocolate pudding and half of the peanut butter mixture over it.
- Repeat the cake, pudding, and peanut butter mixture layers using the remaining ingredients.
- Finish by topping the trifle with the remaining whipped topping and sprinkling with chopped peanut butter cups; refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
For best results, chill the trifle for at least 4 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the cake to soften. You can also use homemade chocolate cake or brownies.
