  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar 100g
  • 1/2 cup Packed light brown sugar 100g
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1/4 cup Pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups All-purpose flour 210g
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup White chocolate chips 170g

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer (optional)
  • Rubber spatula
  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper
  • Wire rack

Method

Making the Cookies
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the large egg, pure maple syrup, and vanilla extract until all ingredients are well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined, then gently fold in the white chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, ensuring they are spaced about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookie edges are set and lightly golden, but the centers remain soft.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure your butter is softened but not melted. Do not overbake these cookies to keep them wonderfully chewy.
