  • 9 cups rice cereal
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Can substitute with crunchy peanut butter if desired.
  • 1/2 cup butter Melt slowly to prevent burning.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For coating the cereal.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cherry pie filling Can substitute with other fruit pie fillings.
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips Melt for drizzling.

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, melt the butter and peanut butter together over low heat until smooth.
  2. Stir in the cherry pie filling.
  3. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the rice cereal into the mixture and stir until well coated.
  5. In a separate bowl, place the powdered sugar.
  6. Using a spoon or spatula, transfer the coated cereal into the bowl with powdered sugar and shake until completely covered.
  7. Melt the white chocolate chips and drizzle over the coated puppy chow.
  8. Let it cool and set before serving.

Notes

Store Cherry Cheesecake Puppy Chow in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Keep away from moisture for best texture. For a crunchy topping, consider adding crushed graham crackers.
