Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook egg noodles according to package directions; drain well.
Assembly
- In a large bowl, combine the drained tuna, cream of mushroom soup, milk, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, frozen peas, salt, and pepper. Add the cooked and drained noodles to the mixture, stirring gently to combine.
Baking
- Pour the noodle mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter, then sprinkle evenly over the casserole. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and the topping is golden brown. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder to the sauce. You can also substitute the peas with other frozen vegetables like mixed vegetables or corn.
