  • 1 lb lean ground beef The leaner the better
  • 1/2 onion onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 15 oz green beans, drained
  • 10.75 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups frozen tater tots
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375F.
  2. Lightly grease an 8 or 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef.
  4. Drain any excess fat from the cooked beef.
  5. Add the diced onions to the skillet and sauté for 4 to 5 minutes until translucent.
  6. Add minced garlic and cook, stirring often, for an additional minute.
  7. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Transfer the beef mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  9. Top the beef layer with the condensed cream of mushroom soup, followed by green beans.
  10. Season the green bean layer with salt and pepper.
  11. Sprinkle cheddar cheese generously over the green beans.
  12. Top with an even layer of frozen tater tots.
  13. Bake the casserole for 35 to 40 minutes, or until tater tots are golden brown and cheese is melted.
  14. Serve immediately while warm and gooey.

Notes

For extra flavor, add spices like paprika or Italian seasoning to the beef mixture. You can substitute vegetables or add bacon bits for variation. Store leftovers tightly covered; best consumed within 3-4 days.
