Preparation
- Prepare the crust by combining graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter; press firmly into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- For the filling, beat softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth, then mix in eggs, vanilla extract, and sour cream.
- Pour the cheesecake mixture over the prepared crust and bake at 325°F (160°C) for 45-50 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center jiggles slightly. Let cool completely.
- To make the apple topping, sauté diced apples in butter with brown sugar and cinnamon until tender; spread over the cooled cheesecake.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce generously over the apple topping. Chill the bars for at least 4 hours before slicing and serving.
