Ingredients

Crust
  • 1.5 cups Graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp Melted unsalted butter
Cheesecake Filling
  • 24 oz Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream
Apple Topping
  • 3 medium Apples, peeled, cored, diced
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
Caramel Drizzle
  • 1/2 cup Caramel sauce

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Large mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer
  • Saucepan

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare the crust by combining graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter; press firmly into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. For the filling, beat softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth, then mix in eggs, vanilla extract, and sour cream.
  3. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the prepared crust and bake at 325°F (160°C) for 45-50 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center jiggles slightly. Let cool completely.
  4. To make the apple topping, sauté diced apples in butter with brown sugar and cinnamon until tender; spread over the cooled cheesecake.
  5. Drizzle the caramel sauce generously over the apple topping. Chill the bars for at least 4 hours before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for a smooth filling. The bars need ample chilling time to set properly, typically 4 hours or overnight.
