- Prepare the instant chocolate pudding according to package directions using cold milk; set aside to thicken.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Arrange half of the brownie cubes in the bottom of a large trifle dish, then spread half of the prepared pudding over the brownies.
- Carefully spread half of the whipped cream over the pudding layer, then repeat the layers with the remaining brownies, pudding, and whipped cream.
- Garnish the top with chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips.
- Refrigerate the trifle for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the layers to set and flavors to meld.
