For the shortbread
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted and browned
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and cook until it turns golden brown, stirring frequently.
  3. In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, and salt.
  4. Pour the brown butter into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and toffee bits.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into bars.

To store, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months, well-wrapped.
