Salisbury Steak
- Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper in a bowl, then form into four oval patties.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned, then remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté sliced mushrooms and chopped onion until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Sprinkle flour over vegetables and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, bringing the mixture to a simmer until thickened. Return patties to the skillet, cover, and cook for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, deglaze the pan with a splash of red wine after searing the patties before adding vegetables. Serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
