Ingredients
  

Noodles
  • 8 oz chow mein noodles Cook according to package instructions.
Beef and Vegetables
  • 2 cups sliced beef (flank steak or sirloin)
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, bean sprouts) Use fresh vegetables for better flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil For cooking.
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped For garnish.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Season to individual preference.

Preparation
  1. Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the sliced beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the mixed vegetables and cook for another 3 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  5. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, followed by soy sauce and oyster sauce.
  6. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

To store Beef Chow Mein, let it cool completely. Place it in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in a microwave or in a pan over low heat. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor, and don't overcook the vegetables to keep them crunchy. Variations include adding shrimp or chicken, or changing the vegetables.
