Pizza Base
  • 1 crust pizza crust Store-bought or homemade
Toppings
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced Choose your favorite mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds flavor
  • 1 cup fontina cheese, grated Can be substituted with mozzarella or goat cheese
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar For drizzling
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning
  • for garnish Fresh basil leaves Add just before serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza crust and place it on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Drizzle balsamic vinegar over the mushrooms and continue to cook for another minute.
  5. Spread the mushroom mixture evenly over the pizza crust.
  6. Top with grated fontina cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.

Notes

Make sure to slice the mushrooms evenly for even cooking. Use fresh basil for the best flavor and experiment with different cheeses for a unique twist.
