Ingredients
  

Protein and Base
  • 1 pound ground turkey Can be substituted with chicken, pork, or tofu.
  • 2 cups cooked rice Day-old rice is recommended for best texture.
Flavorings
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil For cooking and flavor.
Vegetables
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (like peas, carrots, and corn) Feel free to customize based on preferences.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped For garnish and flavor.
Egg (Optional)
  • 1 large egg, beaten Optional for added protein.
Seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger, and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add ground turkey, cooking until browned and cooked through.
  4. Stir in mixed vegetables and cook until tender.
  5. Add cooked rice and soy sauce, mixing well to combine.
  6. Push the rice mixture to the side, and if using, pour the beaten egg into the skillet. Scramble until cooked, then mix into the rice.
  7. Stir in green onions, and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

To store leftovers, let cool to room temperature, transfer to an airtight container, and refrigerate for up to 3-4 days. Can freeze for up to 2 months. For added spice, include red pepper flakes or sriracha sauce.
